Do you want a better way to give your child medicine?

Working closely with a pediatrician, a compounding pharmacist can create medications for just about anything a child can come up with. Children may sometimes refuse medicine just because it’s medicine. Most often, it’s because of the taste, texture, or odor. Compounding can change that without changing the medication’s effectiveness. Altering the dosage form can be very helpful. Options are: oral suspension, lollipops, “gummies”, topical gels, and effervescent drinks. Many children also have allergy issues and reactions to medications with sugar, lactose, gluten, casein, soy, or dyes.

  • Desonide Otic Solution for otic infections is similar to the commercially made Tridesilon Otic which was discontinued by the manufacturer
  • Baclofen
  • Captopril
  • Enalapril
  • Sulfasalazine
  • Lansoprazole
  • Metronidazole Benzoate
  • Methylphenidate
  • Omeprazole
  • Prednisolone Acetate
  • Ranitidine (alcohol free)
  • Spironolactone
  • Ursodiol
  • Vancomycin
  • Anesthetic lollipop prepartions for mono, strep, or tonsillectomies.
  • Motion Sickness for planes, trains, and summer road trips we can create a lollipop with ginger root.
  • Cholestramine Ointment for Diaper Rash – with added glycerin, this product is thinned for better application. We also mill this preparation in order to reduce the particle size of the cholestyramine to make it less gritty. Nystatin can also be added if yeast/fungus is present.
